Come and visit us in our bright and cheery library.  We have over 10, 000 books and often circulate as many as 100 a day.  Our students come to the library to look for reading material and to explore the worlds that are open to them by books.

Students visit our library throughout the day, checking out books or sitting and reading in our many cozy reading nooks, some students read to our plush animal friends and some just browse through magazines.  Our computers are available for research, SOL preparation or maybe just a little fun.

Each homeroom, PK through 5th grade, come to the library once each week for a library class.  During that time students listen to literature, learn library skills and get support of their SOLs.  Students have special times available to them for selecting books for checkout.

Our Knowledge Masters Academic Team is often in the library getting ready for their next competition.  Many students visit the library during the day for Enrichment.  Twice a year our Library sponsors an Scholastic Book Fair: once in the fall and in the spring, our very popular, Buy One Bet One Free Fair.

At Fairfield, the library is a very busy and not very quiet place.  It is filled with children looking for their first book to read alone and children sharing a favorite story.  Students look for and share Caldecott and Newbery award winning books as well as the popular Virginia Reader’s Choice books.  We have something for everyone!  Stop by and see….
